As a full-stack filmmaker, I produce independent film projects by leveraging a unique synthesis of classical filmmaking and modern technical architecture. My approach is defined by self-reliance and the development of custom technical workflows—ranging from advanced storyboarding tools to complex post-production pipelines—to overcome the constraints of independent, budget-conscious production.
Through Pravdomil Film, I have successfully brought experimental feature to completion, handling every phase of the project: script development, visual direction, technical execution, and the final curation of digital distribution channels.
As an platform courier and grassroots labor organizer, I work alongside a dedicated collective of couriers to drive systematic, positive improvements across the platform delivery sector. I facilitate peer-to-peer information sharing and provide on-the-ground support to ensure workers can effectively navigate the complexities of their working conditions.
I collaborate with 3F and engage in legislative dialogues with FH to represent the interests of couriers during the critical implementation of the EU Platform Directive. My efforts are focused on translating these legislative shifts into tangible labor protections, specifically aiming to secure collective agreements that guarantee fair fixed hourly wages, holiday pay, sick leave benefits, and the mandatory provision of work gear. I am committed to ensure, that every courier is rightfully recognized as an employee with the essential worker protections, that other workers have.
I founded Pravdomil’s Cinema, a virtual cinema and platform that collects my filmography, presents feature and short films, and shares behind-the-scenes material and project updates. I designed the site to function as a small, self-curated distribution and archival space. Beyond that, I run the site’s shop (film copies, posters, premiere tickets) and a newsletter to keep an engaged audience informed about screenings and new releases. This project blends creative curation, web-facing audience building, and hands-on distribution platform.
I took on the ambitious project of creating a fictional feature film entirely on my own. The working title is “Ju Ju Ju aneb Brambory ve slevě! aneb Život je cesta,” roughly translating to “Ju Ju Ju or Potatoes on Sale! or Life is a Journey.”
The film follows the main character seeking to escape his routine city life. Inspired by a flyer, he embarks on adventures in nature while maintaining connections with friends and a neighbor, ultimately finding meaning and joy in everyday moments. Themes include purpose, friendship, and humor during difficult times.
After writing the screenplay, I received support from the Jiří Menzel Endowment Fund, which was instrumental in purchasing a new camera and motivating me to proceed, with the obligation to finish the film.
With a limited budget and working alone, I explored various production methods. Initially considering frame-by-frame animation with an iPad and ToonSquid, I found it challenging due to my lack of drawing skills. I then experimented with blending head-mounted camera footage with AI stylization using EbSynth, applying a reference image’s style to 4K frames. I also planned to use voice and face swap technologies to play every character myself. This approach was complex, time-consuming, and unsatisfying due to AI elements.
After moving to Denmark, I considered producing the film there, changing the language to English, and significantly altering the story to focus on a pizza shop owner facing mysterious disappearances of employees and customers. I created a detailed technical storyboard using my custom iPad application inspired by Japanese E-konte storyboards and searched for a producer.
Unable to find a producer, in April 2025, I decided to produce the film myself using 3D animation in Blender. This approach soon proved overwhelming, so I chose a different format: a static shot of the sea over which I read the entire screenplay, letting viewers imagine the film — the only way for me to bring the film to life.

I worked at Prospekt Gallery, an art space known for showcasing photography, camera-based art, objects, archives, and mixed media. Prospekt is not only an exhibition space but also a hub for discussions and workshops, occasionally renting out its space to fit various exhibition programs.
In my role, I was responsible for the daily operations of the gallery. This included opening and closing the place, as well as operating televisions essential for the exhibitions. I ensured visitors had a meaningful experience by answering their questions and explaining the exhibitions. I regularly checked that guests adhered to distancing guidelines and that the exhibitions functioned smoothly.
I often worked independently or alongside the founder, Mogens, which provided me with valuable insights into gallery management. My role extended to assisting in the setup and dismantling of exhibitions. This involved tasks like printing and hanging posters, setting up technical equipment, cleaning and restoring walls, and organizing storage spaces. Through these experiences, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the operational and technical aspects required to run a gallery.
As a member of the organizing team for Dive-In 48, a 48-hour filmmaking marathon and film festival, I contributed in multiple roles including web development, design, and event planning. Dive-In 48 is an annual event held at Husets Biograf in Copenhagen, attracting 6-7 teams of filmmakers who create short films within a 48-hour timeframe. While the filmmaking teams are busy crafting their projects, we host a film festival for the audience, screening various films and promoting the events on our website and the cinema’s social media platforms.
Working closely with a small team—comprising Mads, who managed communications and led the project, and Jens, who assisted with daily tasks—I was responsible for designing and programming the festival’s website. I implemented live streaming capabilities to allow online viewing of the films, contributed creative ideas, and maintained communication with participants and volunteers.
The event culminates with a screening of the newly created films at the cinema on Sunday, followed by competitions for jury and audience awards. The winning films are then submitted to prestigious festivals such as the Odense Film Festival and the Nordisk Panorama Film Festival.
As a Gallery Attendant, I was dedicated to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all visitors. I welcomed guests with a genuine smile and engaged them in friendly conversations to ensure they felt comfortable and valued from the moment they arrived. My responsibilities included managing ticket sales and assisting customers with purchases in the gift shop, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable transaction process.
Encouraging interactive participation, I invited guests to share their personal definitions of happiness or cherished memories by writing them on post-it notes and adding them to our communal wall display. This not only fostered a sense of community but also enriched the exhibit with diverse perspectives on happiness.
Maintaining the functionality of the exhibition was also a key part of my role. I conducted regular checks to ensure that all technological elements, such as tablets and TVs, were operating correctly. This included frequently reloading the Menti webpage on tablets and reconnecting them to Wi-Fi to ensure uninterrupted interactive experiences for guests.
Throughout their visit, I checked in with guests to address any questions or concerns and gathered feedback to help improve future exhibitions. As guests concluded their visit, I extended our appreciation by handing out Happiness Ambassador postcards, leaving them with a lasting positive impression. My goal was to ensure that each visitor left the museum feeling happier and more connected to the concept of happiness.
Within my first week of employment, I received a five-star review and an email commending a guest’s positive experience with my service. By serving dozens of customers each day, I provided a happy customer service and enhanced the overall visitor experience.
In collaboration with Xhevi and Tomáš, I worked with various emerging technologies. Our work encompassed both hardware and software projects aimed at innovative solutions and rapid prototyping.
We were experimenting with a pocket-sized personal AI device using Open Interpreter and the ATOM Echo Smart Speaker. By 3D printing the enclosure and assembling the electronics, we created a device with a single button to launch a personal AI assistant capable of performing computer tasks. Although we tested the device extensively, we found it challenging to use due to complex setup requirements.
In software development, we created a macOS utility called Clean My Desktop and Downloads, which periodically removes old, unused files from the desktop and downloads folder. After internal testing, we planned to submit the application to the App Store.
We also developed Translate My Design, a Figma plugin that utilizes the DeepL Translate API to automatically translate text within Figma designs into multiple languages. This tool streamlined the localization process for designers. Following positive results from internal testing, we intended to release it on the Figma plugin marketplace.
Additionally, we produced a Tampermonkey script named Prototype The Page, leveraging the OpenAI API to facilitate rapid prototyping of web pages and applications. Users could tap on any element, specify desired changes, and the AI would automatically apply modifications directly to the web page or application. We incorporated this tool into our design workflows to enhance efficiency.
Furthermore, we assisted a student with his graduate thesis of developing an iOS app called Share Spot, which enables users to share their favorite locations with friends. The backend was built using Swift and SQLite, and the frontend was developed with SwiftUI. We completed the project within two weeks, attempted to publish the app on the App Store, and ultimately contributed to the student’s successful graduation.
As a filmmaker, I explored various techniques for producing films using new AI technologies.
I developed a plugin for Final Cut Pro called Brain2Film, which simplifies the workflow for processing or generating footage directly from the project timeline. This plugin incorporates tools such as the MusicGen model for generating music from text prompts, the AudioLDM model for creating sound effects from text prompts, and the Bark model for generating dialogues from text and altering voices. It also includes the Rerender A Video pipeline and the InstructPix2Pix model for stylizing video footage, as well as the Real-ESRGAN model for upscaling video footage.
In addition, I experimented with EbSynth to apply AI-generated stylized frames using Stable Diffusion to video footage.
I also explored the Retrieval based Voice Conversion project to clone friends voices and perform voice swaps.
Furthermore, I programmed Pravdomil Filters, a plugin for Final Cut Pro and Motion that provides a watercolor effect using line integral convolution.
I served as the Chief Technology Officer at KeyOverlay.com, a Prague-based startup specializing in keyboard stickers that transform standard keyboards into any desired layout, including various languages and educational tools for piano and typing. Joining the founder, I led technological developments that grew our sales from a few orders per week to hundreds, significantly expanding our product offerings and customer base.
To support this growth, I developed e-commerce platform—initially using WooCommerce and later transitioning to OpenCart with custom templates—integrating multiple languages and currencies. I initiated marketing campaigns through Google Merchant Center, which substantially increased our visibility and sales. To handle the rising demand, I automated our design and manufacturing processes by creating a web application that generated print data based on keyboard layouts, building a database by reverse-engineering Windows DLL files, and implementing Git for version control.
In manufacturing, I programmed custom software for our equipment, designed 3D-printed tools and organizers, and established a stock management system with unique SKUs. For order processing, I developed a custom application that automated shipping label generation and used QR code scanning, enabling efficient fulfillment of up to 50 orders per hour by a single person. These innovations allowed us to rapidly scale production and delivery, eventually attracting clients like Amazon and SpaceX.
Throughout my tenure, I was deeply involved in all aspects of the company, including financial management, where I created custom software to oversee finances and collaborated on strategic decisions. Despite our successes, I chose to leave the company due to fundamental differences in management and vision, as the founder assumed unilateral control without my consent. Opting not to pursue legal action, I focused on leveraging the valuable experiences gained to pursue new opportunities.
From the very first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, I began volunteering to help Ukrainian refugees in Prague. I went to the main square in Prague and spontaneously joined a group of Ukrainian individuals who were assisting refugees. Initially, two organizations operated in the same location but later split. I assisted both organizations with fundamental tasks.
I worked with Ukrajinsko Evropská Perspektiva, which helps refugees but mainly focuses on aiding people in Ukraine by organizing trucks to deliver resources and conducting humanitarian collections. I also collaborated with MRIYA UA z.s., which focuses on refugee support in Prague.
My responsibilities included ensuring and managing equipment necessary for daily operations, such as computers, mobile phones, internet access, and printers. I also purchased whatever was needed, oversaw that everyone had the necessary equipment and access to resources, and coordinated the people involved. Briefly, I helped at the main train station in Prague by providing improvised internet connections for people sleeping over at the station.
I learned a lot about crisis management. Many managers were exhausted and unable to manage others effectively, so we stepped in to manage people as we saw the system failing. We utilized Airtable to manage volunteers, offers, job opportunities, housing offers, and scheduling.
One of my significant contributions was introducing the online platform called “Pomáhej Ukrajině” to the refugee centers. This platform connects people offering support to refugees, and the centers can access the database to help refugees find new homes, among other services.
Memorable moments include helping refugees find their new homes or providing them with internet access so they could contact relatives back home. We also engaged in discussions with the mayor of Prague, addressing the current crisis and issues in the refugee centers.
Working at the LVR-15 nuclear reactor facility in Řež, I was responsible for overseeing technical equipment used in academic research, particularly focusing on neutron spectroscopy. I managed a variety of equipment essential for these experiments, including computers, control and measurement software, water chillers, gas tanks, neutron cameras, detectors, stepper motors, vacuum pumps, compressors, a robotic arm, collimators, and electronic wiring. I also set up network connections and remote desktops, serviced PCs, and managed LabVIEW software.
I maintained complex electro-mechanical components of neutron diffractometers and their control electronics. This included preparing the diffractometers for trouble-free operation during neutron scattering experiments within the CANAM infrastructure.
I regularly maintained equipment and monitored experiments to ensure smooth operations. This involved installing and deinstalling equipment according to documentation and creating custom fixtures for samples requiring measurement. I was part of a project studying changes in the molecular structure of materials under load, utilizing specialized machinery capable of operating under vacuum conditions.
Our technical team consists of two technicians; I focused on computer and electronic aspects, while my colleague specialized in electrical work. Additionally, I coordinated the service and maintenance of computing and office equipment.
I collaborated with scientists from multiple countries, assisting them with their experiments. There were five experimental setups around the nuclear reactor.
Having received training on safety protocols in ionizing environments, I underwent regular checks for radiation doses to minimize exposure. As the first line of support, I promptly resolved equipment issues, leveraging available manuals and collaborating with knowledgeable colleagues to troubleshoot effectively.
mluvii was a small startup of about six people that was acquired by one of the largest mobile operators in the Czech Republic. After the acquisition, I joined the team to contribute to a major overhaul of their platform, aiming to create a brand-new design for an all-in-one business-to-customer communication solution.
mluvii specializes in online chat widgets that integrate audio and video calling, screen sharing, document sharing, and guiding clients through web pages, all within a chat interface. As part of a two-person design team, alongside a colleague responsible for the new visual identity, I was tasked with redesigning the user experience and interface from the ground up. The existing product provided a solid foundation of functionality, allowing me to focus on enhancing and streamlining the user interface.
I began by creating an interactive prototype using Adobe InDesign to simulate the client chat widget and the corresponding operator interface. Later, I transitioned to Sketch to design the rest of the administration system, which was complex yet powerful. Due to the rapid pace of the redesign process, we deployed updates incrementally, allowing for continuous feedback from clients.
To refine my designs, I closely observed how operators used our product in call centers, which provided invaluable insights for further improvements. I collaborated with programmers to ensure the functionalities and user interfaces were implemented effectively.
Upon successfully completing the full redesign, which significantly improved the user interface and overall user experience, I took on the responsibility of designing new features. These included integrating emails, WhatsApp, Messenger, and creating fill-in forms. Throughout my time at mluvii, I created numerous detailed artboards in Sketch covering various aspects of the platform, such as operator interfaces, client sessions, settings, reports, and mobile views.
Our startup aimed to transform the way people send handwritten wish cards to their loved ones. Customers could order personalized, handwritten cards through our mobile-friendly website, and we would handle the physical printing and mailing process.
In this role, I was responsible for the end-to-end design and development of the company’s technological infrastructure. This included creating efficient company processes for order acceptance, printing physical wish cards, and simulating handwritten messages using a plotter with a mounted ink pen. We ensured that each card was sent through the postal service.
Our team was small, consisting of just two people. My colleague focused on designing the wish cards, contributing creative ideas, and managing client relationships. I developed the website using React for the frontend and Node.js for the backend.
The customer journey we designed was user-friendly and straightforward. A customer would visit the website and select the occasion for which they wanted to send a card. They could choose from a list of card designs, and upon selecting one, a preview would be displayed. They could then personalize the message, enter the recipient’s and sender’s details, and proceed to add the card to their cart.
Customers had the option to modify the same card for different recipients or add additional cards to their cart. After reviewing their cart, they could choose a payment method. Upon successful payment, they would receive confirmation emails and updates. Before sending out the card, we would email them a photo of the card being prepared, adding a personal touch to the service.
Although we completed the website, we decided not to continue with the project due to the absence of a marketing strategy. Ultimately, we ended the project. However, this experience was invaluable as it allowed me to learn how to build a company from the ground up, serving as excellent preparation for future ventures.
As a freelancer, I focused on software development, application programming, and creative design, delivering a variety of projects that showcased my diverse skill set.
I showcased my portfolio, which includes my 3D print concepts demonstrating proficiency in 3D modeling and printing, graphic design projects such as posters, logos, and brand identities, and photography. I introduced Prawood, my brand of wooden furniture, emphasizing craftsmanship. I also presented experiments with sound and MIDI, blending music with technology.
I produced educational content for YouTube to share knowledge with a broader audience. Notably, I created tutorials on using TypeScript to develop scripts for Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, a 13-minute quick course on learning TypeScript, and a tutorial about how baselines work in web typography.
In the realm of art and education, I conducted workshops that blend creativity with technology. The CMYK Workshop teaches participants how CMYK colors work, fostering a deeper understanding of color theory in printing. The Halftone Workshop is an interactive session where attendees draw images inspired by sounds, exploring the connection between auditory and visual art. Additionally, I have developed a Parallel workshop where image is divided into tiles; participants scan QR code to receive random tiles, which they then draw, allowing the image to be reconstructed piece by piece through collaborative effort.
I also undertook projects specific to the Czech language. Pravdomil Keyboard is a US keyboard layout for macOS that includes Czech diacritics, aiding users in typing Czech characters seamlessly. Finance v Tabulce integrates Czech banking APIs with Google Spreadsheets, allowing users to manage finances efficiently within familiar tools.
As a programmer and designer, I made a range of applications across macOS and Windows platforms. Pracontrol is a 3D printing control software that streamlines the printing process. Internet Latency is a macOS status bar utility that displays real-time internet quality. Mac Keyboard Piano transforms the Mac keyboard into piano keys, allowing users to play music without additional hardware. Papercut is a conceptual video editor exploring innovative editing techniques. Time Sheet tracks active applications and logs usage into Google Sheets every minute for productivity analysis. Viewfinder is an iOS app for capturing photos and videos without any on-screen UI distractions, focusing solely on the subject. Whetstone is a minimalist image processing application for macOS with no user interface, simplifying the editing process. Year Progress displays a progress bar in the status bar indicating the percentage of the year that has passed. Native Trackpad is an add-in for Autodesk Fusion 360 that improves trackpad navigation, making design work more efficient. Nodepad is a concept for a graphical programming language.
I developed several plugins for the Sketch graphics editor. These include Fix Sketch Trackpad Speed, which speeds up scrolling across artboards for smoother navigation; Sketch Show Bounding Boxes, which displays the bounding boxes of layers for better design precision; Sketch Align to Grid, which snaps selections to the grid for alignment accuracy; and Sketch Cats, a fun plugin that swaps layers with various images of cats.
In addition, I created Types for Adobe, a collection of TypeScript definitions that enable autocomplete features when programming for various Adobe products such as Audition, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere.

I applied to the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, aiming to join the bachelor’s program at the product design department. Unfortunately, I was quickly rejected on the second day of the application process due to my lack of knowledge in art history. Despite this setback, I chose to stay for the remainder of the week to complete all the required tasks. Determined to turn this experience into something positive, I decided to write a book detailing the five-day application process, including the assignments and my approach to them.
The goal of the book was not only to document my journey and potentially reverse the rejection decision but also to help other applicants prepare effectively for the application process. I took on multiple roles during its creation: I wrote the content, drew all the illustrations, and managed the publishing process entirely on my own.
I established a publishing company to self-publish the book, obtained ISBN numbers, and used Adobe InDesign for the layout. Collaborating with a book printing company, I brought the physical book to life. Additionally, I developed a microsite to sell the book and offer a training where users receive a daily topic to brainstorm and draw. To assist with processing the illustrations, I programmed software called Whetstone.
The book, titled “Průběh přijímacího řízení do bakalářského programu výtvarná umění v ateliéru produktového designu na Vysoké škole umělecko-průmyslové v Praze“, was my first venture into writing and illustrating. Time was limited, as there was only about a month between the application process and the official announcement of the results.
Furthermore, I managed to sell a few copies to new applicants. The academy accepted the book and added it to their library, where it is available for reading.
Without any formal education, I was able to demonstrate my dedication and skills across various disciplines, resulting in my favorite personal creation.
I began experimenting with piano keyboard layouts and, inspired by various isomorphic keyboards, built my own isomorphic piano. The traditional keyboard layout often presents challenges, as the fingering of chords, scales, and intervals changes with each musical key. Isomorphic keyboard layouts address this issue, making them easier to play and learn—a concept that has existed in various forms since around 1650.
I designed a 61-key piano using Autodesk Fusion 360. To fabricate the piano parts, I initially converted my 3D printer into a laser cutter to cut plywood components based on my designs. When I required more power for cutting, I collaborated with an online service provider specializing in laser cutting.
I engineered a custom PCB in Eagle to integrate into the wooden piano body. The PCB consists of diodes and phototransistors to read the piano key positions, and it includes an 8-channel analog multiplexer to read all 61 keys. An Arduino microcontroller handles the analog-to-digital conversion and communicates via serial port to a computer. The computer processes the serial data to create a virtual MIDI device, enabling instrument playback in GarageBand.
Additionally, I developed a unique Pravdomil notation that reflects the isomorphic layout into sheet music, better suiting the isomorphic piano keyboard. Users can upload a MIDI file to generate a corresponding music sheet.
Throughout this project, I have produced over six full-size piano prototypes, engaging in continuous cycles of ideation, design, prototyping, testing, and refinement. While the first iteration was not playable, each subsequent prototype has brought improvements. However, further prototypes and extensive testing are still necessary to achieve a fully functional instrument. I aspire to play the piano proficiently someday.
I helped design, prototype, and test online O₂ TV platform. This platform allows users to watch live TV broadcasts, TV shows, view a TV guide, and watch films. During the design stage, our goal was to experience how the product worked and felt before full development. I created a prototype connected to real data via APIs, including TV broadcasting. The prototype functioned like a real product, enabling us to iterate and feel its user experience. By using the product daily, we identified improvements and determined what worked and what didn’t. Our small design team of three used Sketch and Framer for design work. I was responsible for the prototyping, which was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Electron. The prototype was tested by users, helping us refine the design and serving as a reference for the development team.
I developed a website for one of the largest digital agencies in Prague, CreativeDock. They faced challenges in developing their website due to its unique design concept involving extensive animations and videos. They also needed an administrative interface. I chose WordPress and programmed a custom template to meet their needs. With the design and assets provided, my task was to assemble them into a functional website. I coordinated with a single company representative and the designer behind the concept. After completion, I handed the project back to the company.
My high school asked if I create their official website, and I agreed. They needed multiple users to manage content, so I chose WordPress and programmed a custom template. I handled all aspects except for the design, which was done by a colleague who also developed the visual identity. I conducted a training session for the teachers, instructing them on how to use the administrative panel to add news, resources, texts, and media to the website.
I created a website for a friend who is a 3D artist, using WordPress with a custom template that I programmed.
As the sole Creative Account Manager in the Czech Republic, I was responsible for assisting Czech clients with their online advertisement creatives. Leveraging over a year of prior experience, I joined Adform to assist clients in achieving their advertising goals.
I primarily collaborated with creative agencies, showcasing our advertisement platform and demonstrating various online advert formats and possibilities. I conducted lectures and presentations at almost every major agency in Prague, educating clients on how to utilize our platform to its full potential. My role involved teaching clients how to implement interactive elements, effectively target advertisements, utilize location-based advertising strategies, and employ ad rotation techniques to tell a brand story across multiple adverts.
With the advertising industry transitioning away from Flash technology, I played a role in helping clients adapt to this change. I demonstrated our Adform HTML5 Studio, highlighting its capabilities and assisting clients in migrating their advertising content from Flash to HTML5. This ensured that their campaigns remained current and compatible with evolving web standards.
In addition to client education and support, I worked closely with creatives, designers, and developers. I was also responsible for carrying out preliminary debugging of problematic ads, identifying technical issues, and compiling clear case requests for our production services and technical support teams.
Although my tenure at Adform was brief, lasting three months, I received positive feedback on the work I accomplished during that period. My contributions helped clients navigate technological transitions and optimize their advertising strategies. I decided to pursue my own projects, but my time at Adform allowed me to develop valuable skills.
After collaboration with Havas Amsterdam, I remained at Havas Prague as a TV Operator responsible for delivering worldwide television commercials. I was tasked with editing a variety of TV advertisements using Adobe After Effects, customizing content to suit different international markets. My duties included assembling footage, applying visual effects, and ensuring overall consistency and quality.
I was also responsible for exporting broadcast masters for television, adhering to technical specifications and deadlines. This involved encoding videos in the correct formats, adjusting frame rates, and ensuring compliance with broadcasting standards for various countries. My attention to detail was crucial in preventing any technical issues during broadcasts.
In addition to my post-production responsibilities, I actively participated in on-site video shoots, particularly in producing interviews with various clients to promote our agency. Utilizing the Panasonic GH4 camera, I handled the technical aspects of filming while collaborating with my colleagues who served as the interviewer and sound engineer. This experience enhanced my skills in camera operation, lighting setups, and on-set coordination.
I played an important role in managing TV commercial campaigns for prominent food brands, including Iglo and Birds Eye. I conducted final quality checks before the advertisements were approved for TV broadcast, which required attention to detail and an understanding of the client’s brand identity.
Working closely with a colleague who managed client communications from other countries, I gained valuable experience in cross-cultural collaboration and client relations.
Through this role, I honed my skills in video editing, post-production workflows, and asset management systems. I also developed a deeper understanding of the end-to-end process of producing and delivering high-quality television commercials for an international audience.
At Havas Prague, I served as a Flash Animator and Web Developer, where my primary responsibilities included producing animated Flash banners for web campaigns, coding newsletters, and programming interactive advertisements using Adobe Flash. I was an integral part of various multi-channel worldwide media campaigns, working closely with graphic and video assets provided by colleagues.
One of my notable projects was developing an interactive banner for Komerční banka (KB), one of the largest Czech banks. This banner allowed users to compute their mortgage without leaving the current page by integrating the bank’s API—a feature that significantly enhanced user engagement. I also contributed to an interactive installation for Post.nl in the Netherlands, developing an application installed on post boxes that allowed users to take a photo and send it to their email address.
Collaboration with Havas Amsterdam provided an opportunity to work remotely on campaigns in the Netherlands for clients like Peugeot, Citroën, Natuzzi, and Post.nl. Communication was held entirely in English, which not only improved my language proficiency but also gave me valuable insights into the Dutch market and an appreciation for their graphic design aesthetics. We frequently developed multiple versions of banners to perform A/B testing and determine which designs performed best.
In my role, I utilized a range of technologies, including Adobe Flash, ActionScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS, and worked with advertising platforms like Adform and MediaMind. The experience at Havas Prague was profoundly multicultural. I worked on advertisements for the Czech, Hungarian, and Polish markets alongside native speakers from these countries.
Given that our team was new and lacked formal training, we had to develop new systems and procedures from the ground up. This situation honed my problem-solving abilities and adaptability, as we navigated challenges without established guidelines.
As the Art Director for Kavárny naživo, a month-long cultural festival in Prague, I played a role in converting local cafés into dynamic art spaces. Running from October 3rd to November 1st, the festival offered an ambitious program: lectures on Mondays, theater performances on Wednesdays, concerts on Fridays, and workshops on Saturdays. With 18 events across 20 cafés and over 200 artists involved, we succeeded in making art accessible and free to the public, revitalizing everyday venues.
Collaborating with my colleague Honza, we built the festival’s brand from the ground up, emphasizing simplicity and approachability. We developed a comprehensive brand manual and produced all promotional materials, including event posters, leaflets, stickers, invitations, merchandise, banners, web, and animated logos.
In my role as a filmmaker, I produced over 30 videos featuring performers discussing their connections to café culture. We conducted interviews with notable personalities such as Karel Schwarzenberg and Ladislav Špaček, enriching the festival’s narrative. Additionally, I oversaw the production of promotional spots to elevate the festival’s profile.
As the Web Developer, I programmed the official festival website using WordPress, enabling team collaboration. The website featured comprehensive information about the festival, detailed event descriptions, performer profiles, video interviews, café maps, and contact details.
The festival’s events were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, often exceeding venue capacities. Kavárny naživo was a significant success, leading to its annual recurrence. However, I chose not to continue with subsequent editions to focus on personal projects.
Our core team consisted of over 10 dedicated members and numerous volunteers, whose collective efforts brought this vibrant cultural experience to life.
In the Magic Lantern community, I contributed to enhancing the functionality of Canon digital cameras by developing and maintaining custom software modules.
One of my significant achievements was collaborating on bringing new raw video recording capabilities to the Canon 5D Mark II. I maintained a custom fork of the original raw recording module, which added features such as selecting, deleting, and playing raw videos, as well as providing unlimited recording. I also modified the user interface to display only the recorded area instead of the full image. My work received positive feedback from users and fellow developers, as I made raw recording more stable and improved the overall user experience. I programmed my fork in C, utilizing the Engine DMA Controller (EDMAC) to transfer data from image preprocessing modules into SDRAM.
Inspired by the stock Canon auto exposure algorithm, I developed a custom exposure control module tailored to specific needs. I created an interactive graph within the camera menu that displayed brightness values, allowing users to define shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings based on scene brightness. I implemented this module in C and used the APEX system for computing exposure values. Since there was no direct way to access current scene exposure measurements, I scanned the camera’s memory and monitored its changes. Fortunately, I was able to isolate the memory block responsible for scene exposure. I also disassembled the stock Canon firmware using Interactive Disassembler (IDA) on the ARM architecture to understand its inner workings.
For fun, I programmed a DSLR version of Arkanoid, a remake of the popular block-breaker arcade game. It featured an animated intro, sounds, physics-based collisions, and blocks made of various camera icons. Uniquely, the game could be played as an overlay over the current shooting, allowing users to shoot while playing the game. I implemented the game from scratch in C.
As a filmmaker, I self-produced ten short films over four years. I was responsible for nearly every aspect of the filmmaking process. My roles included screenwriting, directing, producing, editing, cinematography, post-production, graphic design. I collaborated closely with music composer and sound master Daniel, managing teams that ranged from 1 to 6 people per film. Films were showcased at various events in Prague, including local cafés and high school events.
One notable film, “You Can’t Have a Tea” explores the absurdity of life through the story of a man who is unable to take a sip of his tea. Another project was a minute documentary depicting the life of a friend who immigrated to the Czech Republic. Later I created an animated short film called “Polštář” (Pillow), which tells the story of a man saving a woman’s life. My schoolmate did the graphic illustrations, while my friends and I performed the acting that served as the basis for rotoscoping. I utilized Adobe After Effects, combining live-action elements with animated graphics.
I utilized Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas for editing and post-production. My equipment included Sony HF100 and Canon 5D Mark II cameras, tripods, a self-built camera dolly and crane, and custom lenses crafted from vintage parts found in an attic. This innovative use of equipment not only enhanced the quality of my films but also deepened my understanding of cinematography and technical problem-solving.
I submitted some of my films to various competitions. Notably, a competition organized by the Winton Train organization, which focused on themes of humanity, decency, and good deeds—inspired by the wartime efforts of Sir Nicholas Winton, who saved refugee children from Czechoslovakia. I also submitted my documentary to a competition organized by NGO Člověk v tísni o.p.s. (People in Need) for their migration program.
During my studies at Gymnázium Prof. Jana Patočky, I become the school’s photographer due to my passion and aptitude for photography. I immersed myself in various photographic projects and also enriched the school community.
I was responsible for capturing annual class photographs and documenting a wide range of school events. I organized photography sessions to teach basic camera controls such as shutter speed, ISO, and aperture settings. These sessions inspired many students to explore photography themselves.
Beyond event photography, I initiated a studio project with my classmates to create decoration for our classroom. This involved conducting individual photo shoots where each student’s portrait was stylized to reflect their unique personality. The project was a success and became a memorable highlight of our school experience.
In terms of equipment, I began with a Nikon D60 and later transitioned to a full-frame Canon 5D Mark II. I also experimented with an old Canon analog film camera, which broadened my understanding of traditional photography techniques. My familiarity with various tripods, staging setups, and lighting equipment grew significantly; I even engineered my own studio lights using old construction lamps.
I explored a variety of lenses, including both zoom and fixed lenses from Nikon and Canon. Discovering vintage lenses in my grandfather’s attic, I overcame the challenge of missing bayonets by designing custom mounts using SketchUp and 3D printing. This allowed me to integrate these classic lenses into modern camera bodies, expanding my creative possibilities. Post-production was an integral part of my workflow, and I was using Adobe Photoshop to enhance and edit my photographs.
Over the four years, I took over 15,000 photos. I shared these images on my personal Facebook profile, engaging with the community and receiving valuable feedback. These photos remain accessible and continue to be a testament to my early work in photography.
During my high school years, I gained extensive experience in graphic design and printing processes. One of my primary responsibilities was preparing the school newspapers for print using Adobe Illustrator. Collaborating closely with my classmates who provided the content, I prepared print-ready PDFs to ensure a seamless printing process.
In addition to newspaper production, I took the initiative to create various posters for school events. Based on information provided by my peers and teachers, I designed these posters to promote events and engage the students. Enhancing my skills in typesetting, page layout, and the overall printing and finishing processes.
Additionally, I explored the capabilities of a dot matrix printer to produce large-scale posters measuring 1 meter by 5 meters. I accomplished this by writing a custom program in PHP, which sent specific commands over the parallel port to access the printer’s graphics mode. Utilizing various halftone algorithms, I converted photos into black-and-white dot representations. The resulting posters resembled traditional tall scrolls hanging from above, effectively capturing attention and demonstrating a unique blend of technology and artistic expression.
My passion for photography led me to work with analog film, where I developed photographs using traditional darkroom techniques involving chemicals and photo paper. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of photographic principles and the nuances of film development, enriching my appreciation for the art form.
Further combining my technical and creative skills, I designed a custom film scanning machine that projected analog film photos onto a camera sensor. Recognizing the need for precise alignment to capture clear images, I engineered special masks and brackets to ensure exact positioning of the film and camera. This project showcased my ability to innovate and solve technical challenges.
During my high school years, I co-organized several annual events, including GPJP Fest, Kompost, and Patočka Fest. These events were highly anticipated, attracting approximately 350 attendees each year. Events featured films and musical, dance, and theater performances by fellow students.
In my role as a graphic designer, I was responsible for creating all promotional and informational materials for these events. Utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, I designed posters, invitations, and tickets. Beyond graphic design, I managed various technical aspects. This included setting up computers and projectors.
I collaborated with performers, teachers, and fellow organizers to gather necessary information for promotional content and event planning. I was also involved in documenting the events through video recordings and photography.
The significance of these events was recognized by the school administration, who allowed me to occasionally skip classes to focus on organizing these projects. This experience taught me valuable lessons in time management and balancing academic responsibilities.
At Sdružení TEREZA, I was responsible for animating and developing an online interactive game titled “Agentem ve Službách Země” (“Agent in the Service of the Earth”) using Adobe Flash. Game was part of environmental education programs for schoolchildren.
The primary objective of the game was to educate children on various environmental issues such as water pollution, waste sorting, the importance of energy-saving, animal welfare, emissions reduction, and overall environmental care. Players assume the role of an agent navigating through different environments, tasked with identifying and addressing activities harmful to the environment. This interactive approach was designed to engage young minds and foster a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation.
In this project, I collaborated closely with a graphic designer who provided all the assets. My role was to integrate these assets and develop the game’s functionality exclusively using Adobe Flash. I focused on creating an engaging user experience that was both educational and entertaining for the target audience.
The game was successfully completed and has stood the test of time, remaining enjoyable and relevant for players even today. While I was solely involved in the game’s development and not in measuring its broader impact, I take pride in contributing to an initiative that promotes environmental awareness among schoolchildren.
While attending primary school, I worked with Mediarex Europe, an advertising agency, as a Flash Animator and Web Developer. My primary responsibility was to develop the agency’s official website using Adobe Flash. The website was a highly interactive and animated platform featuring numerous pages and a media player that showcased various television advertisements produced by the agency. I utilized Adobe Flash for both the animation and programming aspects, creating a seamless and engaging user experience.
In addition to the main website, I was involved in creating promotional websites for various clients to support their media campaigns. Notably, I developed microsites for Bonavita and Otma companies. These projects allowed me to apply my skills in web development.
I collaborated closely with a graphic designer who provided all the necessary visual assets, enabling me to focus on the development and interactive elements. The well-prepared nature of the projects allowed me to work independently without the need for extensive external support.
Furthermore, I developed an interactive Flash website for Mediarex’s affiliate company, Emerix, which specializes in the production of commercials, feature films, documentaries, and music videos. This project expanded my experience in web development within the media production industry.
I contributed to the company’s objectives by delivering effective web solutions while managing resources efficiently. My ability to produce high-quality work at a young age demonstrates my dedication and skill in the field of web development and animation.
While attending Primary School Nám. Curieových, I took the initiative to redesign and develop a new website for the school as a full-stack developer. Recognizing that the existing website was outdated and lacked user-friendly features, I collaborated with a classmate who provided the design elements. Together, we aimed to create a modern, functional platform to better serve students, teachers, and parents.
Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, I developed a comprehensive website that included news updates, an event calendar, teacher contact information, the school’s history, showcases of school achievements, photo galleries, and a custom content management system (CMS) that I programmed from scratch. This CMS allowed for easy content management and updates by the school’s staff.
I trained teachers on how to manage website content and update the event calendar. To facilitate this, I programmed an Excel macro that streamlined the updating process. Although I was too young to receive monetary compensation, the school expressed their gratitude by gifting me a hard disk and acknowledging my contributions.
In addition to the main website, I created a special online platform exclusively for my class. This site featured photo sharing, individual classmate profiles, polls, lesson schedules, and a space for sharing thoughts, which fostered a stronger sense of community among classmates.
I maintained the website until I graduated, ensuring it remained up-to-date and functional. This experience not only honed my technical skills but also taught me valuable lessons in project management, teamwork, and effective communication at an early age.
At PDAmobile.cz, I worked closely with the editor-in-chief, Atomion, to manage an online magazine dedicated to PDAs and Pocket PCs running the Windows Mobile operating system. Our platform featured news from the world of Windows Mobile and smartphones, articles on applications for Pocket PCs, how-to guides, reviews of devices and software, lists of free Wi-Fi hotspots, a mobile software download section, and a forum for Pocket PC and PDA users, including members from ppctuning.org.
As a web developer and designer, I implemented various enhancements to the website and created graphics. Notably, I developed a mobile version of the website well before responsive design became mainstream. This was during a time when mobile browsing was just emerging on Pocket PCs and PDAs, and tutorials on creating mobile websites were nonexistent. I utilized HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to bring these projects to life.
Our magazine frequently received new Pocket PCs for review from companies such as Acer, HP, Fujitsu Siemens, and HTC. These reviews significantly increased our site’s traffic and established us as a trusted source in the community. I also contributed by writing guides, including tutorials on using remote desktop to access computers from Pocket PCs and on how to use software like GPS Tuner for geocaching.
At the age of 12, I began creating my personal website using Microsoft FrontPage. The initial version featured a simple design that featured random funny images, jokes, life wisdoms, a download section, polls, a guest book, and a contact page. One of the unique aspects of the site was the inclusion of secret pages specifically designed for my classmates, where I shared video recordings of songs we performed together.
As my skills progressed, I transitioned from using FrontPage to hand-coding my website with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I developed a custom administration panel utilizing PHP and MySQL, enhancing the site’s manageability and interactivity. Focusing on simplicity and usability, I crafted the web design using Adobe Fireworks.
My website featured an “About Me” page that described the origins of my name. In the “Projects” section, I presented my early works in web development, design, and content creation. I featured my photography taken with a DSLR camera. The video section showcased early films produced in collaboration with my schoolmates. I also presented mobile applications developed for Pocket PC devices.
Furthermore, I maintained an articles section where I posted news and writings on various topics. Notably, I wrote about my Pocket PC Acer N50, highlighting its features like the Windows Mobile 2003 SE operating system, Wi-Fi connectivity, games, eBooks, calendars, remote control capabilities, photos, videos, Skype, and ICQ. I also wrote a guide on how to use GPS Tuner software for Geocaching.
One of my significant projects was developing my first mobile application, WiFi Chytač (WiFi Catcher) for Pocket PCs running Windows Mobile. The application displayed nearby Wi-Fi networks on a radar-like interface. In 2007, when only EDGE mobile data was widely available, locating public Wi-Fi was essential for a fast internet connection. I developed this application using C# and Visual Studio.
